Hi Blog
Haven't chatted for ages... well life has had its ups and downs and work has been mentally busy. Family good, kids good, Man gorgeous and spent 6 days forced to be in his company tramping across countryside in France. Actually v v good :-)
BUT! things have been going on:
LOOK!
In a responsible fashion took her to the vets who confirmed that yes, our Kitten Muji was in fact with kitten. That's right - up the junction, sprogged, bakers dozen in the oven.
How long to wait? Could be any day - definitely not longer than a week!
Alert! Alert! make ready for feline babies on the double look smart get a move on etc etc.
Emptied cupboard under stairs, made deluxe bijoux cat baby flat in there.
Waited
Waited
Waited.
4 weeks later to the day she had 4 little cat sproglets:
Aw!! How cute are they?? One ginger, 2 stripy greys and a spotty grey. Born between 03.15 and 05.40 early in the morning of May 8th 2008.
How proud were Alice and I? Very very very proud indeed. :-)
So we told the WORLD all about them. Ah!
Then the next morning we saw this:
Now count very carefully and you have from the left:
ginger, grey spotty, grey stripy, grey spotty, grey stripy.... hang on?? 2 grey spotties??
GOOD GRACIOUS LORD OF HOLIES AND BISCUITS ABOVE!!!
She'd popped another one out in the night!
We were flabbergasted - no! More than that! We were surprised.
So again we told the world about this further and even slightly more but in a different way wondrous event.
24 hours later? Never heard of that before....
so we have been having loads and loads of kitten baby fun - they're hysterical - bad-mannered, grumpy, complaining, stroppy and cannot stay upright for a moment. When she gets out of bed for a wee, they make a kind of kitten mountain and all climb on top of each other. Inevitably the one on top falls off (v. funny in a cruel kind of way!) and ends up on its back, legs flailing having a major STROP about it!! ha ha ha ha ..... Then she comes back, circles round, puts her bum down on them all and squashes the lot of them. MASSES of furious screaming kitten wailing ensues which sounds like someone off set squeaking handfuls of doggy toys simultaneously as if they are supposed to sound like something real - well they do! Like squashed kittens.
Anyhoo in a few days they have grown loads - look:
and are turning into a right load of oiks, but then we do live in the Hawkhurst ghetto so it was inevitable really - no idea who the father is...
will keep you posted, old Blog!
Tarra for now

PS - Muji is an absolutely faultless Mum - always in there purring away with the little bleeders. Such a good girl (apart from getting up the duff and sitting on them!).

Dear Blog
Been away, kind of....by which I mean I haven't blogged for aaages. sorry little B. Have been thinking of you but just not managed to get there.
Life's been so busy what with house moves, house sales, visiting son in Keele, visiting (sick) sister in Norwich, mending little boat, seeing my Lovely Man ( happy smiley feeling.......)
So in a few nutshells:
House buying: Taken a little while to settle (abt 2 months..) but I feel attached to our little cottage now and adore my little garden. Neighbours all shout FUCK out in the street a lot, but you get used to it! Its been SOOOOO liberating though to choose stuff to have here that WE like - like a big BLACK fridge-freezer (and why not??) and great photos taken by a friend and a HUGE bean bag and a plasma telly just because we wanna. Another happysmiley feeling.. I feel like I am growing, becoming really me... soppy grizzly feeling.... sniff....
House selling: By the time it was just an empty shell, I knew my life had moved on and was no longer attached to that place. Had loved so much about that house and its views but was also enveloped in sadness there. Closing the door for the last time, I felt a burden lift from my shoulders and a fresh bright vista open up ahead of me.
My boat: we got up early and 5 good friends and I set off with the boat in tow down to Rye and its little slipway. It was a bright, sunny, early summer morn. was feeling particularly proud of my little Avenger as she had sparkly new windows and her cover was all mended. After a certain amount of delicate manoeuvring she was water-bound again and I felt like a proud mum watching her little duckling go off on the water for the first time.. :-) sniff... we had a glorious 4 hour trip passing lots of swans, herons, cormorants and even a barn owl covering the 12 miles or so back to Bodiam Castle, her little home. Good day...
My Sister: Zoe is coming up to the 5th of her 6 chemo cycles for breast cancer. Her hair is all gone, inlcuding her eyebrows and eyelashes now, but she still has the spirit of an ox and when she is well, is no less energetic and determined to get on with life than ever. She had to sell her Muse Wembley tix which was gutting but the lady who bought them said she'd sing along for her. Very cool. She won't have radiotherapy afterwards and can then pick up her life again. Love Zo to bits - she's a hero!!
Muse at Wembley: Saturday night. Sound was poop where we were but atmosphere was PHWOAR! Great spectacle and they are still THE BEST BAND EVER IN THE WORLD and better than sex? Well as I had my Lovely Man with me I was tempted at one point to try out Muse AND sex but he was feeling shy so we didn't .... 100K on-lookers is a bit off-putting its true!
My Mum: Also has breast cancer. This is a massive blow to us all (probably most of all to Mum!). Diagnosed 6 months apart? Same cancer type? same breast? So we will all now be checked out etc but it all begins again. Poor Mum. XX
My Lovely Man: Makes me happier than ever. We have had birthday picnics in London with FIRE! Seen jet-planes soar and swoop and ROAR in the sky, snuggled up with films of soldiers, Emperors, Greeks, ROCKED out at Muse. Our time together is still infrequent but it means that we are each still free to be who we are however we want to be. If we were together all the time, he would just turn into a complete sex slave, poor soul so it is probably better thus! How good is it to have a good heart in your life, so close to your own? Very good. :-D

Dear Blog
I wonder if you have moved house much? I have done it lots and this one has been much smoother than most, but Cor Blimey they do wear you out!! lay down at 7 o'clock for a bit of a nap and woke up again at 9.30, in time to go out for fish and chips and whack a few colour samples on the bedroom walls of my new house! Crumbs - it is a mad life, isn't it ( a little bit...) ?
But this morning brought one of those golden moments you sometimes get in your life - actually yesterday did too.... yesterday I quickly popped back home to shove something in my boot, in a hurry, as you always are but I stopped dead turning into my drive as a small shower of pink blossom confetti had blown up and over my roof from the garden and was snowing ever so gently onto my front garden - it was so delicate, I had to just stop and watch! :-)
Anyhoo, back to today - up early to get lots done before completion went thru and could pick up keys - expecting 2-4 pm. Mid-morning was sat in the multi-storey in TW having just been to the dump, then gone into town and parked but my favourite bit of classical music had come on (Spartacus by Kachaturian) Its a long piece so I just switched off the engine and let it soar around me, drifting off to who knows where....delicious... suddenly my phone rang - yanked back to consciousness : the completion was thru and I could pick up the keys right now! I was amazed - it was only 10 to 11! What a superb piece of timing - wonderful news and sublime music - I listened to the rest of it with glistening eyes.. and thanked the world for bringing those two things together into the same perfect moment :-) This move is a big event in my life, marking a watershed from an old life, an old but long relationship still attached to my home to a whole new future with a clean slate and a home to be truly my own, untainted.
It has been tiring and there are days and days of it more to come, but it will be good and it will be right and you never know when another of those little golden moments might come along :-).

Yo Blog!
It is a gorgeous, bright, sunshiney day here is beautiful Kent-ish-shire and we have just had the annual traditional Easter egg hunt in the garden - so fun!!
I spend hundreds of pounds on chocolate eggs, spend at least half an hour hiding them in the most ingenious places imaginable in the garden, taking care not to put them in the sun/dog poo/ strange fly infestation on sun-facing surfaces. This taxes my sleepy brain hugely. Then Alice and Phil (who have been confined to the lounge with the curtains shut) are lead thru to the kitchen, given a colander each, counted down:
8 - 7 - 6 - 5 - 4 - 5 - 4 - 5 - 4 - 3 - 2 - 1 OUT!!
and they go sprinting out like greyhounds from the trap, blinking in the bright sunlight, on a mission to find CHOCOLATE! Plink! Plink! go their little finds as they drop into their colanders and we had only one fight when the bowl of Cadbury's mini-eggs in the summer house was spied by them both simultaneously and neither could find the door key!! High drama!!
Eventually, all were found (though I found a Cadbury's creme egg last August behind a drain pipe) and the tense task of EGG DIVISION began. You see, the strangest part of this whole ritual is that at the end, all the eggs are shared out equally and yet they cannot bear not to chase around the garden to see who found the most! Even though if they win, they will have to give them away... that's true altruism for ya! :-)
HAPPY EASTER Blog!!
